The fact that radiators are not the most exciting or stimulating items in the world doesn't diminish their importance. In fact, as we wrote in our "Watt? Home Energy Explained" book, we like to think of radiators as the unsung heroes of central heating and, judging by the new radiator design, called Blush, by Icelandic designer Thorunn Arnadottir he seems to agree with us.
Taking inspiration from the life giving properties of the human body's capillary network this radiator design certainly makes a statement about how important radiators are to our comfort. The paint used on the radiator reacts to the heat of the water as it flows through the radiator and turns it from a deep shade of blue through to a bright red when at full temperature.
While the colours chosen might not be to everyone's tastes it is certainly a new take on a very old concept - just a shame that a Radfan won't fit on it really!
